Truth and Lie

Truth and Lie

A Poem by J. C. Koch

I speak to the mirror

And he speaks back to me

Am I crazy?

He is just me!

We all have our lies,

Some Big

Some Small

And I am yours

Was he the truth,

My whole life a lie

Or was he a lie

In his basic nature

I know you ponder

The whole of you

Is present in me

I am truth and lie

Was he really me?

Was this pompous smile

What the others saw

Was it me? Was it really?

Your face says it all

You hate me

I am your truth

I am your lie

I smashed the mirror

My hand began to bleed

Baptized in blood

I began a Life in truth

Mirrors make excellent poems but you described it in an excellent, unique way. I wrote a similiar poem and I like how you described it in a more open way with good uniqueness. Good job.

Ooo... This is cool. It seems like an identity confusion thing. I like to talk to the mirror when I get that feeling... anyways, very fun read
