On the first day of classes

the Philosophy Professor

asked his freshmen students,

"Why?"

Bewildered eyes looked out at him

from a sea of smooth-skinned faces.

Had a pin dropped,

it would have been heard.

"Because,"

came a low voice from the back row.

"A+ for the term,"

the Professor said.
