Hummingbird SurprisesA Poem by JE FalconA poem about Hummingbirds, that's all.Hummingbird visitors In the spring they appear And their Hummingbird sounds Take up space in my ear. I welcome them with treats Pretty Feeders and such. But do they nest here? Not at all, very much.
They are picky little birds So choosy about food So choosy if fact They border on rude. I plant oodles of flowers Both vining and not But their nesting goes elsewhere. "That's strange," I thought.
So, this Spring I did nothing I left nature to itself I did not fill feeders They stayed on the shelf. And wouldn't you know it I have Hummers all around They've decided to nest Where food can't be found.
