Heavy is the heart

when children forget to call

just as you forgot.

I looked through tomorrow's eyes,

and saw yesterday.

deep and so brown were those pools

when the shot rang out.

A Unicorn drinks

from a mystic fairyland pond.

The child turns the page.

Maybe yesterday was better...at least I feel it was.
I like that thought in the second one.
As for the first one, it reminded me of "Cats in the Cradle"
our children become us..."But we'll get together then, son, you know we'll have a good time then"

A good choice of song titles. And it fits well. ... I try to submit at least two of these at a time. I think they are like M&M's, can't just eat one. :) Thanks for the comments.
