Limericks for Summer

It is hot outside.

When summer hit home

Boy did I moan

For the AC being used

Made my wallet confused

For you see, I had to take out a loan.

In the morning I filled the birdbath with water

Enough to accommodate an otter

Then along came some Towhees

Two Mockingbirds and some Phoebes.

So, again, I fill the birdbath with water.

Let me guess, the price of power has gone up because of supply chain issues. Might I suggest a pump to replenish the bath. Imagine if a Falcon got in the bath too. Splishin' 'n splashin' in predatory fashion. Might eat the otter.

Somehow, there was a time when we lived without A/C. Now, I'd pawn the family silver to get it fixed. And it's not even August yet.

I know, what a bunch of softies we've become. I remember hanging wet dishcloths in front of the only fan we had, and in front of that is where I sat. LOL
