My First Truck (Daisy Duke)A Poem by J. F. CharlestonA tale about a cowboy and his first truck...
I remember
my first truck how it looked in the lot and the memories I had with it I remember the first day I got a speeding ticket for seeing how fast it could go It was a 97 red Ram it wasn't anything spectacular but to me it was the greatest thing she was a beauty and her name was Daisy Duke Just a V8 engine and 4 wheel drive with a cowboy in the driver seat will turn on a girl that you had a crush on since the 7th grade I remember the night out by the lake shore where I talked to my girl that later left for Houston how much it hurt and how I had a friend that I could talk to and would never rat on you I've been in the mud and on the asphalt but nothing was the same without Daise Duke I remember tearing up Old Man Wither's fields and how much trouble I was in, but what the hell that girl was sure worth it I remember the move out to Amarillo how I had to let Carry go and how I had a picture of her by the gauges When I am alone and had nothing good to do I'd drive out into the night thinking of all the times that I had Daisy Duke. © 2013 J.
