Stranger

Stranger

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

There's a stranger here

she's been here a while

she's goin' through this bin

of turn downs and love crazies

There's a stranger lookin' through

this list of forgotten cowboys

it's like a inventory of old toys

that never got the chance

It caught my eye

when she took interest

when she stayed

and when she saw me

There is a stranger staying

I don't know what game we're playing

but it sure feels right

This stranger makes me feel important

that I've got a purpose for someone

that I could be a good friend

where has this stranger been?

She's taking my time

I can't deny that

I think of her at every chime

of the clock on the wall

Who knew this stranger

could do so much

to someone like me

with just a little touch

There's a stranger here

she's been here a while

she's goin' through this bin

of turn downs and love crazies

I'm startin' to like this stranger

who's been here a while

don't say there's a danger

there isn't nothin' but a smile

There's a stranger here

she's been here a while

she's goin' through this bin

of turn downs and love crazies

Thanks. I haven't written anything for a while.
I like this poem. I like those strangers trying to wake us up. I like the flow of thoughts leading to the every good ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
