Shake It Off

Shake It Off

A Poem by JJAlleson
"

A short poem about the first shoots of love; and the aftermath. And its aftermath. As introductions go, this is the honeymoon period to my style of poetry. No pun intended. :)

His first kiss

Leaves her breathless;

Young shoots of love

Will test this

Devotion;

Her body bless his,

Heart shake a little.

Time skips away

Promises.

His eye

Instead amasses

Fresh fruit.

Desire that passes;

Loins shake a little.

Ring-fingered vows

Now smoke-mist.

Fists give

Black eye caresses.

Aim straight and true,

Does not miss.

Brains shake a little.

Child-swollen now

She faces

Violence daily:

The basis.

Her poison

Leaves no traces;

Hands shake a little.

Eyes open

In his stillness.

The cold floor

Last embraces;

The final kiss

She places;

Tears shake a little.

Strange... I like the poem, I like the small stanza's and short lines but strangely I feel it is a little to long. I find myself losing interest, but aside from that it's brilliant :)
