Merely a being

This is about how we aren't that different from each other that it might seem from time to time

Merely a being with a heart that beats

Merely a being with eyes that sees

Merely a being with ears that hears

Merely a being with feet that walks

Merely a being with hands that reaches out

Merely a being of flesh and blood

Merely a being that gets scared

Merely a being that cries sometimes

Merely a being that laughs with friends

Merely a being with a mind filled with imagination

Merely a being with dreams held dear

Merely a being with a voice that whispers

Merely a being with fears that lurks in the shadows,

merely  a being with the courage to hope

... merely a being like you
