I would like to take a moment to tell anyone reading this about a friend of mine, the late Laura Vear. I found out today she has passed. We don't know how yet, the family is asking for privacy... but Laura was one of the good ones, to put it simply. A dog therapist, nature photographer, painter, lover of animals and teas, a brilliant science fiction writer, and finally, as I knew her, writing group facilitator. I hate to bring news that the world has lost one more good soul it so desperately needs in our times, but it has. I owe my current semi-professional writing career to Laura and her group, ninety-something percent of my poems here were written under her guidance and kindness over the last four years. Tea was the drink of choice, so take a moment and brew a cup if you might... just because it's pleasant. Gonna miss you, Laura.
Anyways. My first poem in a while...

Oh man! I’m so sorry for both your loss and the loss of a kind artist soul (and you right… this world needs all it can take in each one) will definitely drink a tea in just the honor. You were graced by a hand of a helpful soul and those cut ya to the bone so condolences!! I read this one about 15 times and it always seems to me the small words that make or break a poem but the message was placed and woven perfectly. You are her legacy and light to follow so keep going. This realm needs it. Raising cup in a respectful silence. Enjoyed the read~

Thank you for your thoughts, your truths, and your sentiments. This someone... I'm just thankful to have had in my life for the few years we got to spend some time together. It might be greedy to ask for more. So on this day of thanks, I for one am thankful.

First of all, so sorry for your loss. I love the feel of this one, and love the use of the hope and dreams and a bride and groom. Very good write. ~Jim

Thanks so much, Jim. Will return the review favor soon.
Love it. We promise ourselves to make the most of our lives...and as Glen Close said in The Natural..."we have two lives; the one we learn from and the one we live with after that."
Great last two lines for a finish.
