The bête noir of life.A Poem by Jeremy Baker
A spark of darkness, burst into the light.
A whisper in the monstrous quiet. My beautiful child is holding me and won't let go. Daddy, I cleaned up the mess I made. Don't be angry. Summertime fog in the sinking heat, drowning in the open air, obscuring vision. Echoes of ancient bellows, a tiny roar. Daddy, it's me, your boy. See what I made at school? Siren call from beyond the noose, calling, cajoling, beckoning me. Sweet pain of dreamtime songs and truncated childhood. Daddy, I love you, I won't let you go. Daddy, why are your eyes leaking? © 2014 Jeremy BakerFeatured Review
