Steps of Beauty

She takes it step by step as she walks in beauty, Like how the night falls

With cloudless climes with glittering skies

And all of the best of the brightness and darkness

Meet together in her form and in her eyes

Thus!

Mellowed to that elegant light

That paradise beams to a gaudy day

One night shade, the innumerable

One sun ray, the specific

Had half kaput the unnamed grace

That waves in each obsidian tress

Or

Softly brightens over her face

Where thoughts patiently conveys

How flawless, how dear their habitat berth

And on that cheek

And over that brow

So calm

So soft

Yet passionate

Her smile that triumphs

Her complexion that blooms

But speaks of the days in graciousness spent

Her mind at serenity with all below

Her heart that its love is so pure.
