The HillsA Poem by JPatrickAusankaLament for the loss of the green hills of home. There are hills in this country,
barred and bore the conflict
each pathologically absorbed
These hills have seen the extermination
the only remnants in wilderness preserves
These hills are being hidden under
Their latent beauty, it seems, is a story
on their brightly colored cell phones.
by a patchwork expansion of metropolitan
I drive all through these hills, I do, © 2008 JPatrickAusanka |
