The dance of the mask

Shifting silently

from side to side

as the wind caresses us with rain

we skip

we run

we seek to hide

our true face

never finding comfort

in our only skin

we create an illusion

and can't live up

we laugh

we cry

we sin

we die

and then the dance is complete
