Abated Enthusiasm

Abated Enthusiasm

A Poem by Aisuru

I can carry this,
Piercing my back,
Cutting my shoulders,
It builds over the years,
Growing with my fears,
Climbing high,
Rocks scraping my hands,
Going no where,
Hoping for rest,
Receiving maps,
Blank with good intent,
What I seek,
Looking over,
Looking under,
What I seek,
Nothing in-between,
My skin is getting tight,
I’m breaking ground,
Wakening my lazy bones,
Another restless night,
Heavy on my body,
Tipping slowly,
Tumbling down,
Falling silently,
I spent my life building this,
Climbing this,
Carrying this,
Effortlessly I descend,
Decrees in ambition,
Abated enthusiasm,
Why start,
Why stop,
So hard to do nothing at all,
Dead body’s on my back,
Waist of my lazy mind
Complex, complicated,
Committed to confuse,
I’m pinned,
His thumb,
The ground,
Somewhere in the center,
I need to carry this,
Piercing my back,
Cutting my shoulders,
My vexation,
It’s security.
