Won't Allow It

Wish I could stop caring
but I know deep down
my heart won't allow it.

For every time I walk away
I take advantage of what little time
I have to myself.

Of course I never realize
what I had until it gone
A past reminder dangling
in memory lane

while I'm caught
in my day to day
killing myself
over all the anxiety
and strains
Of the path that I take
