Courage(Dedicated to Sam Mcbride)

This was written for my step dad. guess i can call him that now that he's married to my mom now. any how, after losing his daughter, i wrote this one about him and and his strength.

You taught me courage 

in a time we felt malnourished. 

We were overburdened

flooded by the currents 

It was your service, your courage 

That kept us above water 

when times were somber

We couldn't help but ponder

There was no time to squander

You kept us above water 

and It was an honor 

A blessing to have the memory

Even in these times of jeopardy.

Siphoning all of our energy

It was a blessing to be with the family 

saving everyone there sanity

You taught me courage 

in a time we felt malnourished.

I don't know how a human being manages to be so strong willed after losing one of there children but this for me was just shocking... he's gotta be so crushed on the inside. I know we all are. especially immediate family but for him to be so courageous and stand though this has got to be one of the most toughest things to do..:-(
