Swallowed by Darkness

free verse emotive poem

ever notice when you can't sleep

that the darkness is darker

the night bound by fears

of childhood returning

swallowing you in it's dark

deep fen

 

again you know it's false

nothing can take you away

but the feelings are there

nonetheless gulping

you down
