it happens all the time

"

My heart is aching

As it always must

It holds to reason

But only just

 

My mind is reeling

As it ever will

Its thoughts are useless

They never still

 

My hands are shaking

My heart, it beats

My eyes are tearing

My soul depletes

 

It’s over, it’s over

All in good time

Give me your hand

I remember you’re mine

I kind of feel there should be another verse in there, one right before the last one maybe.
