What profit has a worker from that in which he labors

What profit has a worker from that in which he labors

A Poem by Jakobe
"

Ecclesiastes 3:9 (Hebrwes 9:27)

"
What am I getting from the work that I do? Is my work fruitful? Is it truly profitable? Is the outcome of the work I put in worth it? Is it temporary? Am I getting what I want from this work? What do I want, Righteousness or worldly desires? Money, a wife, a house, a career, a nice car. These are things that I want but do I want these more than righteousness? Am I giving my time to chasing these things? If I am, are they worth the time I have here, however long or short that may be? I know these things will all come to nothing and be of no use or enjoyment when I die, so are they worth it? I know that “it is appointed for men to die once, and after this the judgment”. But who knows their time? If I spend this life chasing these things and I am judged I would have wasted my life chasing things that come to nothing and have given me no advantage in my judgement. So, what really matters, which is more important? The pleasures of this life or the judgement I receive after.

The work we put in now is an abstract of our survival instinct. "Bringing home the bacon" is a phrase that means very different things depending on what point in history you are living in.
