What did you expect?

An easy end?

Or a difficult good-bye?

What did you expect?

A good friend?

Or a lover?

What did you expect?

Did you expect to love me?

Or for me to love you?

There's a general rule in essays to not overdo the questions because then you basically aren't substantiating anything. The same probably goes for poetry. That aside, you make some valid points.

So many questions people want to ask, at the beginning of a relationship, in the middle, at the end...
Not very many of us have the courage to ask the important things that everyone really wants to know.
This poem is very bold.

We expect so many things out of the person that we
truly care about but half the time we dont get what we
expected we should just be satisfied with what we got
but were too consumed with what we didnt get...
Very good questions though im sure a lot of people can relate.
