SurfaceA Poem by ..R.I.P..Head under water, I can no longer breath. Choking and struggling, I try reaching the surface.
Under and under I go, Away from humanity and my broken soul. My lungs fill with water, As I struggle to reach the surface.
Water as cold as ice, Pricking at my skin till it's numb. My screams are muffled by water all around, My world is lost as I fall from the surface.
With my eyes squeezed shut, I try one more time to break the surface. My body is numb from lack of oxygen, And I feel myself dying a little more inside.
I will myself to fight, To make it out of this alive. I reach out and you grasp my hand, Pulling me, helping me fight to reach the surface. © 2009 ..R.I.P..Reviews
