Fool

The cold truth

I thought it'd be so simple

All I had to do was not think about him

Make him a distant memory

Erase him from my life

 

It's never that simple

And I didn't have a soul fooled

Everyone knew I wasn't over him

And now the truth has been proved

 

I tried to fool everyone

Especially myself

I can't believe I actually tried

To put him in the past

 

It wasn't quite so simple

I should've known I'd fail

I'm not over him in the least

I still love him like no other

 

It would seem I was the fool

To think I could just forget him

I couldn't fool anyone

Not even myself

could be written a little better but the poi9nt is clear which is a good thing... its something i can relate to a lot...

This speaks volumes to me, seriously. It's almost ironic how perfectly timed me reading this is. But besides that, it was really a great poem.
