All I did was say "Hi" 

Didn't mean to become the burden on your mind

You know that we're in the past

Why did my words cause such a mess

Hadn't spoken since your wedding

Wanted to know how you were doing

Nothing more than a friendly chat

But it's caused you to be sad

Did you think back to what we had

Before your wife and kid

All those promises you had broken

All those memories we had made

Do you ever miss it?

Occasionally I do

But I know that boat has sailed
