One Hour Left

One Hour Left

A Poem by Jason Shadows
"

To Cherish What Will Be No More.

"
"One hour is left for me
 within the distant fog.

 Have you ever cried
 for someone - anyone?

 Distance from the mirror
 just before a pale moment.

Have you ever sung a song
 for the dead that's alive?

 It makes room for sadness
 to ambush silently within.

 To break happiness
at any costs to hold them.

 Again and again it's about
 you - lead the memory.

 Tell them that you stood
 proud beside death.

 And with a swift smile
 of no return to begin.

 Decay the bad we had
and give birth to the new.

 For an hour ago
 i almost left here.

 Without a single word
 and no breath to say...

 I'm sorry for this
 but i must leave you
 all alone again.

 Cherish this moment
 and keep me close
 within your heart for
 i'm never really gone."

'The dead that still loves, is never really dead.'

Intensely written my friend
I hope things are okay with you?! Such saddness within your poems as of late...
In thoughts for things to brighten within your life

Makes me think of things I've walked from...
