Love Me

Love Me

A Poem by Jason Shadows
"

So I Can Feel It Again.

"
"Don't open this until you get home
only when you are alone and don't cry.

     'I'm already crying for you'

She looked so lost when i hugged her
and when i stepped back....i lost my soul.

     'With the breath of sorrow'

As i turned around she asked me the words...

     'Why won't you love me?'

With the wind i stopped and turned to say...

'Your heart...it's to beautiful for me'

The moment of release was not so easy.

'So it's not your fault and i do love you'

For the letter from the doctors office read...

'We are sorry but you have cancer'

I left love standing still with no words
only with a grip on what was and will always be."

Wow, short and so heartbreakingly sad. It tells a story that many people live and experience nowadays. Such a great piece really.
