Oh Goodie JoyA Poem by Charles PetrieMy early days of poetry
Oh Goodie Joy Oh goodie joy I feel as like a boy When good I was To off and dash My goodly goodest verse In minutes short and sweet Though some along the way I think there came a day That away it went But now again I'm like then A master of the form In speed and splendid deed Only then as not My confidence Was so so less I must confess I couldn't dream The what I dream now But fear me not As some cocky beastly bore I am so much more Just listen listen in You'll see me be Some goodly voice to hear Thankfully, feeling like is as close as I get. I want to be me today. Not...him. Standalone poem fro issue #1 of Tuesday 42, my forthcoming poetry monthly Charles Petrie © 2008 Charles Petrie |
