Insomnia

Insomnia

A Poem by Vesica Piscis

I should be sleeping
Eight hours no less
How I long for lovely deep slumber
Warm and heavy
The mind on autopilot
Where time has no value
Nothing need make sense
I feel less alive in wake
For I live in my mind
The mind has no place in dreams
So unnecessary
So fleeting
Such a nuisance
For in this state
I know
I journey
I grow
I learn
I escape
And to think we are blessed each night
With such a gift
That we never realised
We just slept right through it

I never sleep enough. I need meditation to find sleep. Our minds, never at peace. I liked and understood this poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

A novel, well-articulated perspective.
Nifty bit of work!
