Struggling to explain myself...to myself. And thats just it...

 

I can't explain myself

I am a man of mystery

I know you more than I know myself

This is my lot

This is my distress

My true self remains in the shadows

I am the Shadow

I am my own enemy

I am the Shadow

This is my suffering

I am my fight, my struggle

This is my thorn

This is my fate

I clash with the Shadow

I lose

He wins

 

 

The Shadow wins

Whoever he is

Whoever I am

Seems so many are searching for their 'true selves' and paths in life. You express this notion well here. It seems from your description that you have discovered more about yourself in the time since this was written. Well expressed here. I can really relate to this as I feel many can. Although, in order to know others I believe it is better to know yourself first, only then can you truly share. I so very much like your use of a shadow to describe this notion of the unknown.
