Beautiful

One of my older pieces but I still love it. I hope you enjoy

Don�t you wish you were beautiful like me        No I am happy being beautiful like me
And all things I could be                        Broken apart and unable to sleep
Everything I can do                                 Waiting on your world to come unglued
Even being rude                                        Am I being lewd...        
And the places I get to see                        Watching you fall on bended knee
It all comes to me free                                As you get called out for all your deceit

Don�t you wish you were beautiful like me        No I am happy being beautiful like me
Being the one everyone wants to meet                Twisted and incomplete
Knowing every eye is upon you                        Wondering how you sleep
As you just walk on threw                        When your lies run so deep
Life looking like me                                 Knowing you�re more like me
And being so carefree                                And less like you

I remember this one, it is a favorite piece. I live the dynamic layers and multiple ways to offer different takes on how we can view ourselves vs how others might view us. I think it is one of thee most creative things you've written, at least of the ones I have had the pleasure of reading. It is fun, enjoyable, creative and still stunning.

First time read for me .. i love the style you wrote it in or format.. i read it as two poems the lines side by side .. i know so many people who are beautiful and don't know it and wish to be like someone else.. i get something deeper from this too ...

I don't remember this one. A captivating dialogue. Always out there dancing on that daring edge. When I read this I think of all the different types of beauty and how the basest most superficial sort is the least attractive. Your words always paint such vivid scenes.

I love poetry that goes beyond four line stanzas and iambic pentameters. You show the fallacies and dispel them immediately, rocking the reader from one perspective to the other. There are definitely three poems in here, each read gives us a new statement. Very good!

Having written together I already knew we were of the same mind. I wanted to do this but couldn't work out how to split the page in two. This is a brilliant piece of creativity and I'm surprised I missed it first time round. Sometimes I think it's a shame the site doesn't offer the flexibilty to show off some of the things you can do as a creative writer. You, however, have shown us all what can be done.

Yeah! I picked up on that right away. Kind of like a question/statement and answer/response. I can relate to this on a really solid level. There ARE those who think they are the epitome of beauty, grace, style. But the funny thing is, they may be the only ones who see themselves in this elevated status.

Ah...this was very interesting...I like things that aren't cliche...and this most definitely wasn't. It is true that beauty is more than what the eyes see because some beauties are really beasts and some beasts are really beauties...very nicely written, my friend :) Can I be as beautiful as you? ;)

Your hopes were realized. I enjoyed this poem immensely. I did read it several times in several different ways. Each time, I got something different from the poem and I made a discovery. I loved it. Besides the brilliance of writing a poem that can be read in several ways and conveys a different meaning depending on how you read it, I found the words to be truly inspired.

No I'm happy to be beautiful like me
Twisted and incomplete
...
Knowing you're more like me
And less like you.

I personally identified with these lines; they really struck a chord with me. I think I am twisted and incomplete, beautifully so. I also think that people are more like me than they realize. Thanks for sharing this. Kudos.
