I'm young enough to feel my soul

Yet old enough to see behind me

Youthful invincibility is gone

Replaced with a damaged body

Two surgeries in a year

Poison bumped through my veins

In an effort to kill a mutation

Who wants to kill me

Physically drained

Emotionally spent

Focused on survival

Determined to live
