Numb

A poem about loss and desertion.

I'm numb.

I'm lost.

I can't feel myself.

All around me the darkness closes in.

The light is gone.

The emptiness surrounds me.

I reach out to you.

My light and my strength.

All I pull back is nothingness.

The trail back to life is gone.

The road is ruined.

All I see is a cliff.

I really like the spacing of the stanzas, I think it helps it flow a lot easier and brings out the jaggedness and desperation of the poem. I espcecially like the last stanza, because it really gives the poem depth and a setting, metaphorical or not. It's a topic that's really relatable. Great job.
