All Hope Is Gone

My dreams have faded

My soul is worn thin

The rain will not stop

The sun will not shine

My desire is dying

My will has been broken

I feel so much

Of nothing

Dwelling within my heart

The sadness in my heart

For the Ghosts of yesteryear

Plague me still

What could have been

Will never be

I'm so tired of wanting more

I want that happiness

I see in others

But never in me

I've lived this too long

The fight can't keep going

For I'm drained and hurting

. oh, i wonder too ... i wonder at what point life became so bad ... dry and unrelenting ... and the only comfort i get is from the fact that ... the universe doesn't want us to get cynical ... this just means that we're probably the ones who need to be there for people like us who are not as articulate ... readers like me will find this poem poignant beyond measure ... for singing the song in our hearts ... thank you for writing this, jeff ...
