A Great Day for Freedom

Looking out into the world for the first time in a long time.

On this day

The wall came tumbling down

An entrapped soul

Released to a cold world

Warmed by the lone Sun

The day the wall came down

The exile rose from his shackles

And took his first steps

Toward Freedom

I awoke to the sound of drums

The sun high in the sky

Music awakening this lonely soul

Casting out the bitterness, the anger

As the walls came tumbling down
