I Was

hummm

thinking back...
singing simple songs...simple times
deciding things with "lollipop, lollipop",
fighting over crayons instead of boys.

Loving everyone because there wasn't a reason not to,
now I think back to how I loved
for all the stupid reasons
and all I can do is laugh
because of how stupid I seemed to be.

Not all were mistakes
but when you smile at me
it all comes back as regret.

thinking back...
I really cared,
I really laughed.
thinking back...
I was young.
