"Caught"

Emotions hurt.

After drifting aimlessly down the same hall 

I thought you finally looked up

Instead

Your eye was caught by a star brighter than myself

And what hurts the most

That star is my lifeline

I thought you were too 

but I was wrong

I'm trying to become free

But it's hard when you still hold the key

I'm caught in between two tempests

One lesser and one violent

I continue walking

While the buildings sway

The ceiling is lifted

And the sun's gone away

I try to hold steady

And rhyme out the pain

But you care more for her

When I felt the way she did

You gave her your warmth

As I stood by and watched

Caught in various emotions

As colors flew by 
And I watched

Why are you hurting me?

Your voice echoes in a now-hollow ground

"Pain doesn't solve a thing"

I know desire is bad

And desire "creates my evil" 

But I'm a fading rainbow under your strengthening sun

I'm caught in the middle

With no escape
