Understatement

A poem I wrote about a guy I like asking me out.

You don't understand,

How could you?

You left me before,

why would you?

 

I never took it seriously,

The way you asked was so playful,

I wish I had looked into your eyes,

And saw that you meant it.

 

It must have taken courage,

To ask me that,

But I laughed and said "no,"

And I didn't even realize.

 

You actually cared when I was down.

 

You made me laugh, when all I wanted to do was cry.

 

You made me fall in love with you.

 

I shattered you.

 

And I'm so so sorry.
