Venom.

Venom.

A Story by Jess Holden
"

Short story.

"
I had never felt worse. The venomous poison that spilled up through my throat burned my mouth, leaving a horrid taste. Besides the physical pain, I felt wonderful.
I could feel myself becoming happier, smarter, and even prettier that I was before. I felt a smile spread across my face; it felt like an evil smile, one the bad guys do in horror movies after escaping just before the credits roll. I felt my eyes well up with tears as my vision became blurry. I knew this wasn't good, but nobody would care.
Nobody ever has.
As I sat on the cold tile floor, I started to think, one of my least favourite things to do. Why was I here? Why was I doing this? I felt the tears begin to fall down my face, burning slightly more than the venom that just erupted from my mouth. I didn't know what was worse; knowing that this worked, or knowing that no matter how hard I tried, I would never escape this endless hell of venom.
