Little Light Bulb

Little Light Bulb

A Poem by JessikaEndsley
"

About living next door to Glen Rogers, serial spree killers, as a child.

"
Sometimes at night, we turn out the lights

And take a long look out the window

My heart stops

Only for a second this time

I'll stay out of sight

Life stops being so pretty but it used to be

Truth stays in my heartbeat until I get older

By then my heartbeat is colder

So long, Little light bulb

What's wrong?

In the closet or under the bed

Wherever I am

It's a pity,I won't be pretty like life used to be

I'm on pins and needles in the dark

These closet parties on the weekend tearing me apart

If we can only whisper, why do I want to scream

I was told to listen for footsteps

So long, Little light bulb

It's a pity, I was creeping while he crept.
