Because Of You

You’re the only one who keeps me standing here,

Waiting and keep on holding on,

Holding on for what I know is impossible

‘Cause you’re the thing that I can’t get rid off in my life

A life that is meaningful because of you

 

And every night when the cold wind blows,

I always do the same thing,

The thing that you taught me,

Taught me how to love,

Love that will keep the night warm

 

Whenever I see the clock ticking,

I remember the times we shared together,

Times that you made moments of my life,

Moments that I will never forget,

Unforgettable moments with you

 

I will climb the highest mountains

To see the most beautiful scenery,

A beautiful scenery that will make me believe,

Believe that you will be in my life forever,

Forever like a love that is true, because of you.

I read this as if the 'you' was an absent parent, though that may not be what you meant when you wrote it I admit. I wld love my kids to think of me that way. But then this makes me think of my own death, too. Sigh. Such is poetry! Thinking of death should inspire us to LIVE! the deeper now when we can.
