Drowning Love

Drowning Love

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Someone set me free
because her beauty has a hold on me
she has a firm grip and there is no escape
I know she's the one for me, its gotta be fate.
Maybe I'm a just a fool in love
but she's the one I want, no one is above
sometimes I wonder, is she thinking about me
or am I just a simple person in her memory.
Whenever I'm with her, I feel so euphoric
I cherish every moment I'm with her, I adore it
I want her to know this feeling isn't lust
because my love for her is bigger than both of us.
This feeling, its something new to me
sometimes I wanna back out, I just wanna flee
but I know shes worth it, thats why I stay
I want her by my side, hoping she never goes away.
I love her, what more is there to speak
my love for her is pouring out, a unfixable leak
I"m drowning, and she"s the only one who can pull me out
but will she save me? I have no doubt.
