Operation save my hometown

Operation save my hometown

A Poem by Joey Martinez

I sit back and enjoy my day, then all of a sudden I get a phone call, Its from my boss, I've been ordered to destroy my city, the home I grew up in. I could not believe the message I had received, I took a oath to obey all his orders and do as he pleases but I don't know if I can go through with this. There has been a outbreak of non stop murder and crime, the population has gone down dramatically. Hundreds of people die every day and no one steps in and tries to stop it. I can see how killing everyone in the city will stop the crime and murder from spreading but I believe there is a better way, I think I myself can find the main source of this horrible crime and end it. I grab my gear and head out to find where this madness originated, I go unnoticed and try to blend in with these harsh criminals and hopefully one of these idiots take me to their leader or someone important. I know my boss expects me to end it all and destroy the city but I can't kill innocent civilians, I don't have the balls to do it. I see a gang of criminals parading the streets, I become discreet and follow their every move, they walk down the alley and enter a shady building. I overheard one of them say that this building belongs to the main source of all these crimes, their leader. As they enter, the person guarding the door asks for a password, "The tiger kills at night" whispered one of the thugs, they enter the building and vanish. I found my entry point. I wait until they all enter and I slowly creep my way to the door, dressed like a degenerate I blended in well so I did not worry about looking suspicious. I approach the door, and the man asks "Password" I say " The tiger kills at night" and as he opens the door I stab him in the throat and cover his mouth so no one would hear is girlish screams. I enter the building and find myself outnumbered. There is at least well over 100 people in here but I like a challenge. Everyone is drinking, completely off guard So I decide to strike instantly, I take out my dual wield pistols and fire away. The scene is intense, but I am not worried, I have a set of skills that no one can match, I dance through all the crossfire and kill everyone in sight. Headshot after Headshot I begin to go all out, destroying my enemies like a fly on the wall, then I came across the boss of them all. We looked eye to eye and the crossfire began to happen, bullets everywhere, skills were matched, he was a worthy opponent I just hope I could latch. We run out of ammo and begin to strike with our fists, exchanging countless strikes, blocking them all, waiting to see who will be the first one to fall. He lands a strike and I fall to the floor, he's beating me up until I can't take no more. As I begin to slowly lose breath, I realize this is it, here comes death. I let my city down, but I tried my best, but I promised myself I would not die until my city is at rest. Adrenaline rushed through me and hit me hard, I began to lose it and go all out, I threw endless strikes and landed them all. He fell to the floor, covered in blood he knew this was his last few breaths he was gonna take, I grabbed a jagged edge of glass that was lying near me and stabbed his heart. I ended it all, my city can rest, I finally found peace in my heart.
