Grow up

Grow up

A Poem by Joey Martinez

Picture this
We sit back and reminisce
Nostalgia pours its mist
Those childhood memories we truly miss
Start flooding our brain
It drives us insane
How we can't go back in time
So we reminisce about how we just turned nine
But as kid's we sat together and wondered how
How can we be grown ups!? We want it now!
Let's grow up fast!
We want the future not the past!
We wanna be big and have a blast!
So now we sit here, living the "so called dream"
But it seems
This isn't our dream to be
Drowning in the nostalgic sea
Can we go back to being little me?

What can I say that Calamity hasn't already covered. This is how it has been, is and will be. I enjoyed the poem, especially the second last line: "Drowning in a nostalgic sea"... good job!

Life is a blur as it is...
The young want to grow up, the old want to be young...
Anyway, good job.
