A writer writes with mind, soul, and heart
We make words depict images like art
The hand moves the pen but our soul gives it ink
The pen writes down what our troubled minds think
And some of us write for the sake of others
Trying to aid the reader with mother like care
Join us so we can both eliminate the scare
Don't ever think you're alone for I to was there
I was the reader behind the screen looking for aid
Poetry helps many people fall back from the blade
Poetry is a medicine which comes at no cost
Poetry is for the troubled, confused, and lost
And us writers supply without command
Because we write for those who need a hand
You are the citizens we are the land
We just want you to understand
We write for you
