Foolish Me

Foolish Me

A Poem by Joey Martinez

My feelings for you long ago have past
But the memories of you seem as if they'll last
I just can't forget those gorgeous blue eyes
That caused tension between you and the sky
Or how about that white shining smile
That can guide me through the darkest road for endless miles
And what about those luscious lips
That had me feeling high within each kiss
You had me living in another world
You were my own galaxy girl
But now you live in my head
Appearing in my dreams when I lie in bed
Playing mind games, driving me insane
And its I who takes the blame
Because I shouldn't have gotten attached
But I couldn't help it, we were the perfect match
Such a fool I am
I cry for you while you're with another man
But I wish you nothing but the best
I thought you were special but you're just like the rest
