Her Walls

Her Walls

A Poem by Joey Martinez

What if her walls could speak?
Imagine all the secrets they'll leak.
Or maybe they'll keep it safe and comfort the pain.
Give her back the self esteem that's been drained.
A lot has happened within those walls
They witnessed her rise but also her fall.
From heartbreaking calls to mental brawls those walls have observed it all.
But they continue to keep quiet despite the riots.
A girl of insanity starts to feel as a detriment to humanity.
No friends or family know her more than those walls.
She's running out of smiles to help stall from the pain.
She's running out of lies to comfort the brain.
But not a word is spoken.
It seems the silence of the walls will never be broken.
Locked in her cocoon of doom.
Out comes the Marijuana fumes to help bloom false hope.
Another high to help cope with the pressure of reality.
But soon it'll fade.
Then the brigade of negativity will invade the room.
All while the walls keep quiet and witness the doom.
