Guardian Giant

Guardian Giant

A Story by Joey Martinez

And there she goes
Running away from her fears and woes
This time she forbids to turn back
No more retracing tracks
She's running from it all
Because no matter how hard she tries, she falls
But I'm glad she choose to run
Instead of heading towards the gun
Because her life is far from done
Now is where she'll experience fun
Who am I you ask?
No need to bask
I'm just a creature with one task
Remove her hideous mask
I'm a lonely giant who lives in the woods
People fear me but I'm just misunderstood
Until she came along
My joyous heartwarming song
She was running along the woods and our eyes stared
But from that glare I knew she was something rare
She approached me without fear
She asked me to hunch down and wiped my tears
She smiled and told me life's too short to wallow
Ever since that day I choose to follow
I decided I wanted to repay the favor
Because that moment we shared is something I savor
I'm her guardian giant
And she is my only client
I want to see her smile
But lately she's been in denial
These past couple weeks
Have been nothing but tears running down her cheeks
I hate that face she wears
It makes me scare
How her life can be so unfair
And I wanted to interfere
But that would cause her town fear
So I had to sit back
And watch depression attack
But not anymore
She ran out the door
So now I watch her run
Running towards where we meet
Running into the woods by the creek
It appears she's near
Now please excuse me, it's my turn to wipe her tears
