I'm Here

I'm Here

A Poem by Joey Martinez

You smile on the outside but ache within
Even make up can't hide those tears running down your chin
But you wipe em away just in time
So no one asks you how you truly feel inside
I see past the lies you try to perceive
And don't you try to make me believe
Because I know you cry yourself to sleep
I sense pain and sadness every time our eyes meet
But there you go
Putting on a wondrous show
Fooling these strangers, even your friends
These so called loved ones you'll be with until the end
And its a shame they can't sense the pain you hold
That has to be one of the saddest stories ever told
Its a shame how I, nothing but a passersby can see within
And I wonder, if I approach you will you let me in?
Because the comfort you seek? Walks by you everyday
Let me help you..... let me help.
