Truth

Truth

A Poem by Joey Martinez

I'm a troubled minded youth
Who's soul purpose is to seek the truth
A blooming rose filled with piercing thorns
Aching to know why was I born
What's my purpose in this game we call life?
Can someone please explain?
Before I drive myself insane!
Am I here to cause havoc and pain?
Or am I the sun that dries up all the rain?
Was I made to spread joy and peace?
Or am I already dead? A lost soul who long ago deceased
Someone, anyone, let me know why I'm here
But to be honest, knowing the answer is something I fear
Life is a car I can not steer
So I sit in the passenger seat not knowing who drives
Not knowing who controls so many lives
I'm a clueless troubled minded youth
Who has a sweet tooth for the truth
