Apparently we just grew apart

Then you smile like everything you said made perfect sense

But I don´t understand

Would you mind telling me again?

 

Cause if it wasn´t love then what was it?

What was I to you?

If it wasn´t real, if you didn´t feel

Anything but blue

Nothing you said was true

If it wasn´t happiness then what was it?

A comfortable break?

Until you were done, walked away

Called me a mistake

 

Just a false pity expression, laughter in your eyes

Funny how you made me believe in your lies

You have million good reasons, of how it won´t work

Your eyes give you away, can´t hide your smirk

I might fall hard, but I´m not stupid

I see through your disguise

Your ruined life

But I don´t understand why you had to ruin mine

I said goodbye to hope today

Love thin as paper in the wind

It blows away

What was it indeed?
Well, I can tell you from experience it might have been better to be free from a person who does not even understand his own heart.
He probably didn't ever really love you.
It probably really was not your inadequacies but his.
The lies were lies he had been telling himself as well.
And... In the end, there is no explanation to satisfy the pain.
Just know you were not crazy. You did not fail yourself. You did not fail him either.
Now, it only matters that you understand what it is not and look forward to the happiness ahead that will be.

Defiant and painful, this work stirs emotion just as good poetry should. Not only that, but you live in Norway and I am in love with Sissel. Apart from that, I truly enjoyed this writing and its sensitivity. Very well done.

the one who leave, always have a million good reasons of his/her choice...
the one who is left with suffers the loss....... until the last breath...

yes... love is very thin as paper... you must add a little weight atop it to keep it from blowing away...
but what's that weight?
No answer...
